 The Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) is medium sized tropical fruit tree in the family Sapindaceae. The Rambutan is native to South East Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia. At present it is widely cultivated in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and many countries. Due to its tropical nature, it cannot be easily cultivated in Bangladesh, but could be cultivated applying some specific measures. Most challenging is low temperature in the winter and low relative humidity in the dry periods. But could be overcome taking special steps.
